CLK550 VS C6
So i was visiting Mexico.... Saw a C6 vette with plate that reads something like Nospeedlimit, dude in sun glasses thinking hes hot **** =D.
I got on his *** and started to get close to see if he will bite, as i thought all i hear is a down shift and black smoke come out of the exaust.
I was about 1 car behind when i slammed my paddle to go behind him, he could not shake me off at about 120 i saw him look at the mirror to see if he left me. Then we both had to brake hard since there was traffic again, after that he started to cut people off thats where i backed out, i dont like to endanger others. I bet the guy wonders how a little benz stayed on his *** this entire time, i bet by 140 i would probably gain that 1 car he had on me due to earlier start. Clk 550 in under rated by many.
I need a damn cam in my car 24/7!

yeah manual i heard him down shift **** was mad loud! i wanted to line up but he couldnt belive im on his *** so he was cutting in and out of traffic instead of ligning up and shiwing me how it's done =D

The paddle shift can do that too but I suspect more noticable with the manual trans.

C6 Vette Z51 Convertible 6-speed, 06 M35X
Sorry, but you have NO shot against a C6 in a CLK 550 unless there is some driver error involved. I have an LS2 Convertible Z51 6-speed and took out a C63 AMG (repeated twice)----i know a CLK550 cant take out a C63 AMG. I ran a 12.38 @115.86 stock as well. The LS2 is not much slower than the LS3, esp. if it has the Z51 package which shortens the gears.

If you beat the C63 by more than a CL, I wonder if he was shifting too early or too high or had a passenger as well. How close was that race?

my car now has 625hp with a camshaft and fullbolt ons finished by famous cartek in nj. any amg boys wanna see the back of my borla exhaust?
try that with your crappy amgs... i have had mercedes and they are the worst cars ever made and you gotta spend so much to get them modded.
this is of course except for my old school benz w116 turbo diesel which i wouldnt trade for anything.

Why didn't you get a "crappy" LS2 A4 instead?

625hp is scary fast right now for me... .i cant imagine another 400hp on top lol
just saying you cant compare any benz to a vette especially mod for mod.
for 12k you got a twin turbo setup that would ****t over anything mb has to throw at it. and thats any tuned mb as well.
you cant even get the 55's into the 800 or even that 1000hp section without spending more then the car cost.
brabus new Bullet is $450,000 has 700hp and 800tq. still not anywhere close and thats almost 10 times the cost of a new c63

c63 has no chance to beat a ls3 vette z51 6 speed. stock for stock i have raced more then a handful down here in brooklyn on the belt pway and have run away from them.
stock c63 450hp prob around 3,900lbs automatic.. factory in the drivetrain loss
stock ls3 z51 6 speed has 436hp but its underrated.. my car dynoed slightly over 450 stock. and the car weighs 3150 pounds. plus much better gearing.

MB isn't trying to make the fastest street cars in the world. AMG's purpose is more oriented towards a blend of comfort, luxury, safety and performance.
You have a fast car and good for you, but don't be a toolbag about it.
PS 12k turbo upgrades for C6's are ticking time bombs and I doubt you will get 10k miles out of it before the motor gives out. For a proper TT upgrade for a C6/Z06 would need to build the motor, different fuel system, different cooling, reinforced rear end and an auto tranny. At least $30k+ for a reliable setup.

just look at the ls9 motor... its 21 thousand for the motor setup different pulley and tune boltons and your close to 800hp.
ls3 supercharged stock motor full bolts on prob around 20k or less in the motor and over 1000hp.

but i love mb for the safety and comfort... realibilty is another topic

On a separate note, I seriously looked into buying a C6 vert before opting for the SLK55 for the wife. That C6 interior was rental car grade - not to mention the Sales guy had to literally hang all his body weight while bracing himself against the footwell & dash in an effort to pull the top down. That shenanigans was enough for me to instruct the Benz dealer for our SLK build. While I do think the Vette is the best bang for buck available for a 2 seat sports car, Chevy needs to address the interior - including the seats.
Chevy quality vs Mercedes? You can't be serious.
