This happens to me pretty frequently.....people laugh hysterically, smile huge, or look at me like I'm nuts when I try to bait someone for a little fun. I was going to HEB yesterday for a few last minute Thanksgiving items for my bird-fry when I had the pleasure of a 1991ish Mustang GT pulling up behind me at a light. After driving for a while it was clear.....he's trying to make a serious statement....pillar guages, a tach the size of Pluto on his dash, plastic seats, 5pt harness/roll cage and steam roller sized rear rubber.

We finally get side by side, me in first at 2500-3k and him in 1st, I guess?.....it sounded like I was next to Jeff Gordon as he confidently looked at me laughing, nodding his head as if to say "whatever loser, whenever you and that grey colored triple seven are ready for take off you go right ahead." So, I smiled and motioned "les roll" with my pointer finger....he laughed again and said "ok!" and hammered it. LOL. I immediately followed and by the time my big bird was shifting into 2nd I was suckin him up bad, real bad. By the time I was halfway through 2nd I was ~1 car ahead and it was only getting worse, at a nasty rate. I couldn't even hear myself think his car was so loud. After blowing by him and putting a respectable amount of distance between us I brake and wait for him. He rolls up and says, "I was spinning bad bro, let's do it again!" We go again and it's the same result, if not worse. Then he says "man, I keep roasting the tires...let's go from a 2nd gear roll".....I tell him to go whenever he's ready and I'll follow. He nails it from about 30-35, I again suck him up and go by him.....and it was worse than the two prior runs and he stayed into it until about 120......I think I was about 4 cars ahead of him?? ....at one point I stuck my head completely out of the window and looked back at him (I know, that's uncalled for).

Finally, he has no choice but to give me a liiitttle respect....he pulls up next to me and shouts "that motherf**cker halls azz bro".......I smiled, and humbly thanked him for racing and explained how hard it is for me to get people to bite due to the size/make of the car. He laughed and said, "sh**tttt, I had no idea....nice car man." I gave him a thumbs up, complimented his car and we parted ways.

That's EXACTLY what I love about driving around in the old school 220 S65......laugh while you can, then spend the rest of your Googling "S65 AMG" and sratching your head wondering what the hell that was that just sucked the paint off your car.

Good guy...good times.....and god bless him for actually racing me

Not wishing to out kill you, but I have the same fun with my 600. Not many
people are fortunate to own both 600 and 65 but up till last March I owned
a CL65 and a S600, I'll swear on some days the 600 felt as quick, I've even
blown stuff away when I have had 4 people and luggage.
Incredible cars, be a shame when the V12 is gone.

Why do they laugh at S65.

S65 shows you are a man just like the S600.

People who dont drive S Mercedes dont know anything good. There are pigs that have bmw junk audi junk and lexus bicycle junk that think have a real car. But the real mean laugh all day at this.

I hate the people who have E Mercedes or ML Mercedes who think the car is real. The only Mercedes is S Mercedes SL Mercedes CL Mercedes SLS Mercedes and SLR Mercedes and everything else is junk.

This is why Mercedes build the S Mercedes for real men and not stupid nothings. The S Mercedes is for captains and power. The people give you respect in a S Mercedes and laugh when they see E Mercedes or ML Mercedes because they know who is smart and strong and has power and is a real man. A captain is a real man. Think about it.

You tell the crap that is laughing at S65 Mercedes that you will buy them and you will show them you are powerful and make them cry. This people should pay the price for laughing at S65 Mercedes.

No seriously, I am not an arrogant guy and the cars I actually own are a 2009 Lexus LS460L (going back) and a 2005 Ford Explorer Limited. I did own a pre-owned 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL until late 2000 and a 2002 CLK 430 for a short while in 2003.

The personality invented was for sociological purposes. I'm not Russian, I'm 100% American and I respect all automobiles from Kia to Bugatti. All insults were all in fun and no harm was intended.

For the record, I've never even been behind the wheel of an S65 AMG but I'm sure it's a blast. Oh, and I do know that questions are best posed with a question mark.
