Challenge Stradale v an A4 with a 'real driver'

Ok.... my last thread turned into a war. So, I figured I'd try again....

On our way to dinner I pull up to a red light behind what looks like a debadged Audi A4, lowered with some wide tires. Nothing special, but I notice his license plate states an obvious reference to his 'Karting Expertise', and I catch him looking in his mirror as he is revving that little sewing machine.

Beyond the light is a great section of corners that leads to one of my favorite on ramps. The only problem is my right seat has my very special CBBSCD (Carbon Based Biological Speed Control Device), otherwise known as my wife! She is usually not to excited about these sort of childish games.

She was also observing the hijinks coming from Mr Kart, and when I looked over she did something entirely out of character..... she smiled and nodded her head! OK kid...... let's see whatcha got!

The light goes green and off he launches with some wheel spin! That was a yawn....... but we are heading for a right/left sweep, surely we'll see a decent apex. I sweep past and beat the karter to the first apex, then the second and then off down the straight headed for my excellent on ramp. Through the tunnel, blip down a couple of gears (grooving to the Fi noises), late brake, turn in and set the chassis for the mid corner bump........ roll on the throttle and un wind the steering, back up though the gears...... I love this car!

I pretty much had forgotten about kart boy, until I notice him way back in my rear view coming through that corner and running it out wide. It actually looked like a decent line! I figured at this point in order to insure domestic tranquility (and a good meal) I would be wise to call things off.

I am well onto the freeway when here comes the Audi. He doesn't do the fly by. He just starts pacing me and not looking over. Maybe he was just trying to ignore us.... but I think I saw a cell phone camera flash. If they had cell phone cameras 30 years ago, I would have done the same thing if a guy in a Ferrari played with me.

Too bad he didn't give a thumbs up, at least he was game in his nice commuter car (I now have one myself).

I wish I still had my A4, that'd give you some problems with me behind the wheel =P.

400awhp + short ratio gear box, sways, track suspension, stiff chassis mounts and 3150lbs. I still miss that car.

Good thing I live in long island where the roads are decent, and at the time had the ML55 for those NYC pot holes.

And with a 11.8 ET, yes, it would beat it backwards =).

If his HP numbers are accurate, it'd be closer than you think. C&D ran 11.6 @ 127 in an F430 Scuderia, which at 503 hp is only 28 hp higher than the OP's car...taking away the 28 hp would still have it running in the 11s (I'd think an 11.8 is possible given the old one tenth per ten hp rule) at a 125-ish trap, so you'd have your work cut out for you going forwards, forget about backwards.
