Contact ! W211/E55AMG
Zero traffic in the deep night, I proposed to have a few runs with the new met E55AMG owner, he glad to accept my offer.
Well, E55AMG V8 kompressor is a top performer sedan,
Everyone knows that.
we keep neck to neck around 40 mph
I give the signal Beep of rolling start, then both floored
God, I'm pulling on him 2,3...8 CL, read the speedo 130 mph
E55 is tough, no more gain I can after 200 km/hr
I braked the light to tell him "game over"
Again, we're neck to neck, this time he gave the signal to run
in turn, beep by him
same result, 7~8 CL to 130 mph then we're stuck even, E55 is
outstanding at speed over 130 mph.
Pull over, we exchanged name card & said good bye to each other.
What a wonderful night !
BTW, I was driving CLK50K, which claims 500 ps as well.

Now correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't those two cars suppose to have the same performance numbers??
How did u manage to put 8 car lengths on him ??

Correct if I'm being ignorant but shouldn't it have been an equal race?

Let's check the KEY to trigger the race, neck to neck
(1) Compression 10.0 vs 9.0
(2) Final ratio 2.82 vs 2.65
(3) Difference of car weight, Cd -> ignored.
(4) Very close TQ band each other
The one get the better V initial rules (accelerate force "a" is compatible) according to Newton laws.
That's higher compression & larger final ratio response quicker

I was told an ultimate race story in Germany 
Vath V58K vs Kleemann E55K, 640 ps each other
the super league of Rocket sedan in the world.
Guess what ? 345 km/hr was read on the speedo in Vath
while Kleemann E55K was just a few CL behind.
Anyone here knows about that amazing race ?

I can promise you this story is the biggest lie of all, I am still the only one in the world who drives the 640 HP KLEEMANN 55, we will release it after Frankfurt IAA next month.
Any day I will race that Väth junk, that company doesn't even own a dyno - this power claim is 110% sure PR power.

The mechanic told me the story about
Sounds reasonable to me, or they're talking that W210 world
record E55.....338 km/hr

Today I heared another interesting race story, a test actually.
The driver in F360 brief what he feel in that race(test)
Scenario
W211/E55AMG(w delimit & 500 ps option ? TBD) vs chipped RS4 (430 ps) vs F360 (420+ps w intake mods)
E55 hit over 300km/hr, RS4 was dead even, F360 was a couple of CL behind, F360 can't catch the front two beasts nor be pull away.
E55 is quick & fast, the F360 get impressed.

last i checked, a fully loaded CLK500 AVANTGARDE with AMG optical package, 18" wheels and suspension. Including designo interior was BAHRAIN DINARS 27,000 which equals $72,000.
Our currency is linked to the $. Every dollar is equal to 0.377 of a DINAR!

So the culture is a little different here.
A new car is hard to believe expensive, especially those larger displacement ones.
Once ppl get their Mercedes, they'd love to mod it due to relative
reasonable price in performance parts.
you can find performance shops here & there as well.
and ppl hold their Mercedes longer than in the states,said, more than 5 years in average.
While in the states, ppl have higher expense rate
if you do the mods plus ppl trade a new car in 2~3 years usually
Why bothering to mod it w/o trade value ?

shine, we are speed freaks here with alot of fancy rides. We have car shows every year and if i were you.... i would keep glued to the TV on April 4th 2004! Its the BAHRAIN F1 GRAND PRIX !!!!
We mod our cars locally here at private garages, but we lack performance suppliers. Most of the distributors/agents of perfomance products are car agents themselves caue they can afford the capital and already have the expertise and equipment!
But they are expensive!For example, the agents for brabus, lorinser, and kleeman are the agents for MB!
as far as culture of mods are concerned..... pictures are worth thousands of words my friend!!
