Motorcycle story
Nice kill! I raced my friends cbr600 from 30-130 and beat him by a car length. We raced twice with the same outcome. He pulled on me in the beginning but then I started reeling him in and kept going
anyways, people who don't ride bikes will never understand those who do. just take a look at how long this thread is, it just keeps going on... and on ... and ....
Then come on down here....so you can see...
please... there is no way an 03 r1 will lose to an e55. cbr600, maybe the f2, maybe. you guys supposedly racing these bikes don't understand how it is to go 150+ on 2 wheels. you're either down for it or not. not to say i have any less respect for those bikers who don't, they just choose not to (smart w/control). it's so easy to go full throttle in a car. not every biker is willing to go full throttle at those speed, especially when a car thinks they can keep up with them. they either back off because they think the car is unsafe, or the conditions are unsafe or don't like to play w/cars at those speeds.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
as for bikes, don't get me wrong, i've always loved them....for me a new 600 would do, but that new r1 that came out is really nice! perhaps with a professional rider, i would have been beat by that r1 flat out, but by my experience with a pretty decent rider, they're very close at 100-120+
I do belive our cars are limited to 159-160 mphI I know my speedo is very accurate at high speeds, I have a certificate of speed when I thought I was doing 150 mph I was really doing 149.38 mph
150 mph sitting in luxury, done it close in my friends' 2003 clk500 and a 2002 m3. not bad. how fast have you gone in your e55?
W209 and M3 isn't luxury
My point was that, i would have wanted to know if somebody has raced against a turbo-busa...
oh damn! that's funny. i'll make sure to rub it in their faces! i did say "close" though, but still funny. what year is your ls400?

One thing you need to find out is if the biker knows what gear he should be in. My bike pulls hard from whatever gear I'm in but if I were to run someone I need to know what gear to downshift to. From a 80mph roll I would probably go into 2nd if not 3rd to make sure my rpms are up in the powerband. I'm guessing most bikers out there don't start off in the ideal gear.
No flame intended.
The biggest factor in "acceleration contests" of any sort on the street is rider/driver ability and judgement.(Or the lack thereof).
There are a lot of really fast cars and bikes on the road that are piloted by slow/inept owners.
I have......in my Supra of course....at 31psi and C16 RACE GAS
