C240 vs Volvo S40

I took my car in for service yesterday, so I spent the entire day driving around in the loaner C240 they gave me. I was just thinking the whole time for what type of person/buyer this car is really for and I finally figure out it's for those that don't care for a lot of performance, but loves the smooth ride and some luxury features.

anywayz, around 11-ish pm, I was on my way home and at a stop light there was this new S40 w/ two guys in it and they looks over and started inching forward. The light turns green I gave it some gas and see if he wants to play and he did. This was going up hill btw, pretty steep one too. I floors it and so did he. At this point I'm wondering if I'm going anywhere because I'm so used to my own car. At about 45-50mph the C240 had a nose lead on the S40 and it just stayed there. So I told myself this isn't going anywere and let off the gas. The S40 kept going and flashed his hazard lights when he passed me.

I started laughing and drove pass him when I made the next right turn while he's waiting for the light to go straight. When I looked over, they looked like they just made a great kill or something. I laughed all the way home thinking what was this rice-boy thinking.

I can't wait to meet them again in my own car.

I hate those old C class loaners my dealership gives me. I once had a 1995 C280 (I believe).....man did I beat the heck out of that POS. Why did you let off the throttle...you should've kept going and killed him.
Shame on you!!!

haha...didn't want to pay more gas for the thing. I rather waste gas on my own car.

Hey dudes..... wouldn't you insult our own brothers who own C240? I got a loaner C240 (I even got the wagon!!!).... somehow my wife loved it.... she even liked the seat better than my E55.... One of few things I did not like was the mpg.... damn.... w/ my driving style, I only got 20-22mpg..... my E55 w/ a lot more power still gives me 16-19mpg....

Powerwise.... well, don't compare it w/ AMGs..... but I think it's quite comparable to Accord, S40 (see, you even got a nose ahead of S40), Altima, A4, Passat, 325i, etc.

Yeah.... you shouldn't have let off the gas... didn't you want to see their look? :p

wasn't insulting anyone. I let off because I felt I had proved the C240 was gonna pull all the way against the S40, but he then does the ricer hazard light crap.

i was looking at the nice cooper...

I did the tail light DIY. take off the light, masking tape it, and spray it w/ the transparent tint paint, and then clear coat it.
