Hi guys, just in the last two day I have puat 500 miles on my 2005 E55, a lot of driving. Tonight I was coming home from the Bellagio, and a convertable mustang GT pulls up to me and starts reving his engine. He has the top down with his girl friend in the Passanger seat, and I had my windows down becuase it was about 75 degrees here. He yells over to me, "Hey dude, wanna race, I beat that I can whip your *** in that stupid Mercedes Benz, So I was so damn tempted to race and I did. So I said to him, "Yea really stupid, when I see your *** at the next stop light 10 secondes after I have stoped and waited, then we will see whos laughing. Then hes just like bull ****. Guys you know what Im talking about this guy that wants to try and impresses his girlfriend with his "MUSTANG" and wants to show up the guy in the nice Mercedes 4-Door. I know that im only about 553 miles on my odomiter, but I had to do it. So the lights on the other side turn yellow, he starts reving the Mustang and those really dont sound that well in my opinion, and then I start reving the E55 and the look on his face kind of disipated from a smile to a grim look. The light turns green (I had ESP on) I floor it, in a few secondes he is at least 4 car lenghts behind me. I took it up to about 110MPH then let off, and when he finally caught up to me, He said, "What the hell is that car man?" and I just said, "AMG pal." and drove off.

Am I the only one here with the bullsheet-o-meter pegging the needle? Maybe AMG1 just did not put enough time into his post, but it sure sounds like it came from the mind of a teenager (who is unlikely to own a $100K car).

I've embrassed a guy in his 350Z w/ his gf in the car too. They had their windows down and I could see them pointing and talking and stuff. I just looked over and smiled. When the light turned green I took off w/ ease and as soon as I see him floors it next to me I did the same. The guy didn't know what hit him. I slowed down to spd limit at 45mph and then slowed down even more, but the guy just didn't want to get next to me for some reason afterwards.

 

It sounds like a real sleazy area to live in: That is, if people speak of such disrespect.

I just read that he had only done 500 miles on his car. I am a skimmer, so I missed the most important piece. Racing is a no-no as obviously all the seals and rings have to seat well during break-in. I wouldn't want to be the 2nd owner of that car.\

I don't think he was necessarily BS'ing at all. But I wouldn't risk damage to the engine of my $80K - $100K car.

 

I'm going to throw in the towel with Vomit. There are just way too many things that make that story sound like something my little 10 year old brother would tell me after watching The Fast and the Furious.

 

At least he went home with a girl and you got to wack off on your AMG!!!
