Why not just have the best of all 3?

Mercedes for comfort and ride and enough power to carry every one in the family(V8)
Mustang which with about $10k can have 500+ rwhp (V8)
Tundra truck for hauling and carrying stuff (V8)

Recently got some new wheels/tires for the truck

Recently got some Saleen wheels
and awaiting an engine transplant - getting a 5.1L stroker which runs 400 hp normally aspirated and adding a twin screw supercharger down the road which should put me at about 550 hp.

oh, and I am not even gonna bother to post a pic of my daily beater, a '88 Civic DX hatchback automatic with dents and scratches everywhere..but gets me 34mpg!

The '02 E55 is more collectable than the Chevelle because it's original and 1 of less than 100 made. The Chevelle no longer has the original block or paint, but the 14K includes purchase, so that's gettin' on the cheap. SportGT, to the wheels/tires on the Tundra. Not to big, too small, too blingin'.

Ok, if this guy thinks he's hard I have a challenge for him. Let's you and me go out on the open road and open the throttle up and SIT at 130 MPH and see who's car overheats and DIES first. Won't be my 10 year old I6 C 280 (and just in case you try to be a smart ***, yes, of course you would smoke my car in a race). ****ing loser and your POS Mustang, my doors shut like they're brand new and yours will sound like those of a beat up Cadillac from 1985 in three years (2 of yours are already up). God I LOVE you morons. I would LOVE to see your car up against a CL 65 AMG.

Are you sure about that number? Only 100 E55s seems kinda small.

I mean why buy an AMG anyways. You'll only be able to

wife will be driving it the rest of the time....I mean
when most of you propose to her by getting on your
knees I guess it sets the tone for the
rest of the relationship ....Yes sweety....As you wish Pooky....Anything else honey.
So you geezers keep changing diapers and driving you
daughters to soccer practice and stay off the left lane.

Mustang Cobra... 515 HP.....1/4 mile in 11.90.
Enough said !
nothing to do with midlife crisis or anything... im a 21 year old AMG owner but a lot of my friends are modular ford motor, LS1, and LT1 owners!! Its normal for most guys who drive domestics to be ****y but its just plain stupid when a forum troll such as yourself comes onto this board and starts talking smack. If you came on here to learn and participate in an educated discussion then great... if you came here just to troll then get the hell off this board loser and go to the F-body board and f*ck with them. We are in a different league ourselves!!! BTW, you say with over 500hp you run 11.9... well its funny cuz a stock E55 runs 12.0 while a chip and pullied E55 would spank your 11.9 with an 11.6. So please grow up!!! Also, it must feel pretty bad when you see a 4dr sedan walking away from your uberpowered supercharged rustang. When it comes down to it, the E55 is a lot heavier then the cobra and both cars have the same displacement and same type of forced induction but stock for stock the E55 will ALWAYS walk the cobra!! ****, my chip and pullied C32 walks stock supercharged SVT cobras and I only have 6 cylinders.

500 of all colors/options, but supposedly only 86 '02's in Tectite Grey were imported for the US market.

I think if your gonna go top end ala CL 65, then you gotta go top end with the Ford as well. Only fair right? Well you're not going to like it but the new Ford GT will run a 0-60 @ 3.43 sec. and a 1/4 @ 11.69. All this for 139K, and only 8 cylinders! LOL The CL will lose.

To take it further add the price difference of about 40K in mods to the GT, and I don't know what would beat it? But certainly nothing from MB, nope not the SLR its got a 0-60 "under 3.8" plus its 400K.

Calm down about the AMG's. Yes they are nice, but they aren't king of the road, far from it.

Sigh. These threads are soooo stupid, and here I am contributing to one.

> but face it man, 500 hp of american muscle will beat any stock AMG.

Nope. The SL65 (and presumably CL65) will wax it in any contest - acceleration, 1/4 mile, top speed, braking, cornering... you name it.

> All this for 139K, and only 8 cylinders!

Nope. If you can find me a brand new Ford GT for $139K, I will buy it *today*. For cash. Just give me a phone number. The going price for GTs is over $240K.. significantly more than an SL65.

lol...this thread is interesting. Why don't we try to be constructive.

Ford Mustang: Solid, fast car for people on a lower budget. Beats most things on the road, is fun, and still gets an occassional chick. Who gives a flying **** if it seems to be a "girls" car. Stupid comment.

AMG MB: Nearly perfect, fast car for people who have a considerable amount of money. Is nonetheless a fun car, but posses many extras that Fords don't...(do AMG's massage your back, or are those 760's?). This car is also a status symbol along with German engineering to back it up.

Both are fast, but different categories. Mercedes-Benzes are for cruising down the autobahn consistently in triple digit speeds. Most people in America do not do that with their Mustangs.

Which one you pick is pretty much determined by how much money you have. There might be some preference in there as well. But, I think it is retarded to deny the good characteristics of one car just because you have the other.

Think before you post.

I'm 19 ... and i still choose an AMG over a freakin Mustang .....
Don't know why .... maybe bacause it's not only fast .... but the luxurious of it? Or maybe i just hate the loud *** exhaust even when you tap on the gas on the Mustang ..... everyone has their own taste huh

hahahhaahahahah...this thread is great...

I'm not to say why ppl buy Mustangs, but not changing the chassi design in 20-30 yr was a complete joke. Good thing Ford finally come to their senses to give us a "brand new" Mustang.

IMHO, i dont really like the new design too well in its stock form... the tuner models (i.e. Saleen) look much nicer. I test drove the new V8, its definately a great improvement from the previous model. The transmission doesnt seem as "mechanical", it goes into gear a lot smoother!!!!

Comparing a moderate/highly modified Mustang to a stock AMG proves no point. Worse yet, I doubt that a 500HP (crank) Mustang could beat any number of SL55/65, especially on passing power, let alone 0-60MPH. The archaic Mustang chassis and first gen independent rear suspension would have a tough time putting the best power to the ground in order to get very low 4 sec 0-60MPH, especially consistently.

Well you might be an old geezer recently retired that finally attained to a Cobra Mustang after 40 years? Who cares? I'm younger and far from being an "old geezer." Besides, the target audience (spelled "older generation") you are proactively flaming wouldn't care less what you think, and I'm sure are the least "loud-mouthed" of us all.

The point here is that you are immature, regardless of age and need to recognize and respect the fact that many of us have probably owned a modified Mustang or modified xxx while we were doing well in college or high-school. As you most likely have not owned an AMG, it's sad that your ignorant remarks just show how little you know about performance comparing one naive aspect of a muscle-car to an AMG built for comfortable GT performance. Your muscle car is almost strictly built for straight-line performance whereas any AMG is build for all-encompassing luxury sports performance. You can buy an inexpensive, used 2002 stock Z06 and it's faster, handles better, and is a big step up from your Cobra in every respect. Also, it costs less than your "modified" Cobra. What's your inane point as you support nothing? I can throw $8K into a rusty, old 1978 Chevy Cargo Van, and I bet you I can make it faster than your "Cobra." Grow-up, enjoy your Mustang without deriding others, and you will go further in life!

Btw, I've owned highly-modified Mustang GTs in the past and prefer not to time-travel to 1960/70s technology again (It is 2004 you know), to a time before I was born.
