Killed a E55, SL55, and CLK55
Mercedes for comfort and ride and enough power to carry every one in the family(V8)
Mustang which with about $10k can have 500+ rwhp (V8)
Tundra truck for hauling and carrying stuff (V8)

Recently got some new wheels/tires for the truck

Recently got some Saleen wheels
and awaiting an engine transplant - getting a 5.1L stroker which runs 400 hp normally aspirated and adding a twin screw supercharger down the road which should put me at about 550 hp.

oh, and I am not even gonna bother to post a pic of my daily beater, a '88 Civic DX hatchback automatic with dents and scratches everywhere..but gets me 34mpg!

SportGT, Are you sure about that number? Only 100 E55s seems kinda small.
Wow you AMG owners are really sensative.
It must be the midlife crisis or the menopause.
I mean why buy an AMG anyways. You'll only be able to
drive it once a month since you Mom...Errr sorry your
wife will be driving it the rest of the time....I mean
when most of you propose to her by getting on your
knees I guess it sets the tone for the
rest of the relationship
....Yes sweety....As you wish Pooky....Anything else honey.
So you geezers keep changing diapers and driving you
daughters to soccer practice and stay off the left lane.
Mustang Cobra... 515 HP.....1/4 mile in 11.90.
Enough said !
To take it further add the price difference of about 40K in mods to the GT, and I don't know what would beat it? But certainly nothing from MB, nope not the SLR its got a 0-60 "under 3.8" plus its 400K.
Calm down about the AMG's. Yes they are nice, but they aren't king of the road, far from it.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
> but face it man, 500 hp of american muscle will beat any stock AMG.
Nope. The SL65 (and presumably CL65) will wax it in any contest - acceleration, 1/4 mile, top speed, braking, cornering... you name it.
> All this for 139K, and only 8 cylinders!
Nope. If you can find me a brand new Ford GT for $139K, I will buy it *today*. For cash. Just give me a phone number. The going price for GTs is over $240K.. significantly more than an SL65.

your SL is running mid 11s bone stock on street tires... imagine chipped and on DRs!!!! Sorry but I dont know of many bolt-on mustangs that can even dream of hanging!!!! "Treynor... you da man"!!!
Ford Mustang: Solid, fast car for people on a lower budget. Beats most things on the road, is fun, and still gets an occassional chick. Who gives a flying **** if it seems to be a "girls" car. Stupid comment.
AMG MB: Nearly perfect, fast car for people who have a considerable amount of money. Is nonetheless a fun car, but posses many extras that Fords don't...(do AMG's massage your back, or are those 760's?). This car is also a status symbol along with German engineering to back it up.
Both are fast, but different categories. Mercedes-Benzes are for cruising down the autobahn consistently in triple digit speeds. Most people in America do not do that with their Mustangs.
Which one you pick is pretty much determined by how much money you have. There might be some preference in there as well. But, I think it is retarded to deny the good characteristics of one car just because you have the other.
Think before you post.

Don't know why .... maybe bacause it's not only fast .... but the luxurious of it? Or maybe i just hate the loud *** exhaust even when you tap on the gas on the Mustang ..... everyone has their own taste huh

I'm not to say why ppl buy Mustangs, but not changing the chassi design in 20-30 yr was a complete joke. Good thing Ford finally come to their senses to give us a "brand new" Mustang.

If you're young and drive an AMG...more power to you.
But I can't stand the loud mouth old geezers.
The point here is that you are immature, regardless of age and need to recognize and respect the fact that many of us have probably owned a modified Mustang or modified xxx while we were doing well in college or high-school. As you most likely have not owned an AMG, it's sad that your ignorant remarks just show how little you know about performance comparing one naive aspect of a muscle-car to an AMG built for comfortable GT performance. Your muscle car is almost strictly built for straight-line performance whereas any AMG is build for all-encompassing luxury sports performance. You can buy an inexpensive, used 2002 stock Z06 and it's faster, handles better, and is a big step up from your Cobra in every respect. Also, it costs less than your "modified" Cobra. What's your inane point as you support nothing? I can throw $8K into a rusty, old 1978 Chevy Cargo Van, and I bet you I can make it faster than your "Cobra."
Grow-up, enjoy your Mustang without deriding others, and you will go further in life!Btw, I've owned highly-modified Mustang GTs in the past and prefer not to time-travel to 1960/70s technology again (It is 2004 you know), to a time before I was born.
