Anybody know what's under the hood of that IS300? Sounds like he did an engine swap with that much amount of juice. Maybe he swapped it with a 2JGZ? Crazy power! Good video!

Errr... I just seen the video, at neighbors house. Im upset really. I feel bad for the little E55, trying to hold its ground with only 469 compare to the 600 some odd ponies.

2JGZ is the Supra Engine, which is alot more powerful and torquer and stronger than the regular IS300 engine. The older SC300 also had this engine but they werent turbored. The IS300 mis shifted it sounded like thats why i believe the E55 kept up with it for so long. Also god damn E55s are fast on the top end, i never knew they were that fast.

I thought the IS300 had a 2JZ that was identical to a non-turboed Supra, from the bottom block all the way to the top?

i dont think they kept the 2Jz in the IS models. I though it was the newer engine. Let me look it up really quickly.


Ok this is what i found out with a few clicks. If the IS300 is the 2JZ engine then its slightly detuned, i always thought the american version did not get this engine but a different version. I think maybe the Altezza (jap spec version) does get the 2J.

see the HP ratings are different. Why would they drop HP from an older vehicle?

who knows, it is lexus. To make such an ugly vehicle imo to follow the old SC Models.

How embarassing!!! 80+ for the Benz and it gets completely wiped out by a car less than half its cost. That d-bag in the video driving the E55 actually thought he had a chance! For 80 grand I'd expect to beat alot of the cars on the road too I guess....at least the slower ones.....

what? did you watch the same video as us? a monster turboed IS300 with weight reduction and god knows what else pushing what was it 600 something hp beat a stock E55.
