How to perfect donuts with auto trans

Well I like to beat the **** out of my 04 E500 from time to time. And I recently went to an open parking lot and was doing some donuts with my buddy who has an M3. I turned off the ABS and ESP and through it in manual mode. I then turned the wheel, stepped on the brake a bit, and floored it. This did not give me the results I was looking for. I know my car is a sedan and his more of a sports car so he will be able to perform donuts better than me, but my question is how can I do them better. It seems as though everytime the car automatically shifts gears I lose some power and lose the spin. I tried doing a search but I couldnt find anything. Can someone explain to me how I can do the best donuts in my car. Thanks

just one of the downfalls of having an Automatic tranny my friend. Ive seen vids of m5s doing donuts so i doubt it has anything to do with the sedan part.

Try to make a burn out. (Left foot is pressing on brake and right on the gas pedal) The wheels spin, but the car doesn` t move.
So, turn your steer wheel, left or right and stop pushing the brake...

I think if you try this way, you gonna make a donut.

its very easy keep it in manual and keep the revs high around 4000 rpm's while your spinning.

you could also try using trays. Get some trays from your local burger king or what ever, you know the trays they use for drinks. and then set your back wheels on them and floor it with the steering wheel turned. Hopefully that will work out alittle better.

doesn't this damage the tranny itself?

I can do this in my E320!! Power brake, let go of brake, floor gas, turn right or left. This is becoming a very bad habit but I just can't stop myself from time to time. I don't really do donuts but slide the back around a little. No smoke. Hope the tires won't wear too quickly. Maybe i'll do it when it's wet only from now on...

I don't see how this will damage the tranny.

I figured out he problem. For some reason when you disable the ESP and ABS, it doesnt work. But I just hit the ESP button on the center concole and it spins like crazy. Dont know why that happens, but it does.

Well, I bought new tires, so I said **** it, and put $500 worth of S03's (old tires) up in smoke. :v

Pretty much, just turn off the traction control/ESP, floor it and turn the wheel. Your back end will just swing out!

haters crazy
Actually, when your ABS and ESP light comes on (from stop lamp switch malfunction) you have no ESP or ABS whatsoever which is why I havent replaced mine. Its annoying having the lights turn on and beep but I can spin the tires any time I want. It also very dangerous so be careful!!!!!!

Lsd

You need an LSD (limited slip differential) and the ability to turn off all software help to really wag the tail.

My CDI does a nasty burnout with ESP off or in Dyno mode, but it will still intervene if you try to wag the tail. It owns you.

I'm pretty sure that only works on FWD cars...atleast I've only seen it work on front wheel drives
