My ML...many thanks to forum members

Well, I finally got around to taking pics of my ML today. As indicated in my title, I have to thank the forum members (sincity and tifosiv122) who gave me great deals on their "hand-me-downs." Because of them, I was able to add some serious upgrades to the vehicle at a fraction of the cost. Thank god I didn't have to deal with the horror stories about forum sellers that I've read recently. Here are some shots of the exterior and interior:

Thanks for the kind words. The Milles are 19's. sincity gave me a great deal on them. Put it this way...normally, two new retail Pirelli Scorpions alone cost more than the price he gave me including shipping. As for the DVD/Nav combo, I got a steal on those, as well.

As for future mods, I am not sure. In reality, how much more do I want to put into my vehicle? How much more before it starts looking tacky? Also, I am about a week away from buying my first house, so first things first, right? Plus, I also have a weakness for expensive guitars. Too many vices, but healthier than those of others, right?

$ permitting, upgrade the headlights to '02+
The front view of the truck will look really nice.

Ofcourse, buying house is first priority.

From looking at the first picture (above), your truck has the stock headlights prior to 2002. The headlights on MLs from 2002 look different. They come in 2 flavors (halogen, and Xenon). Physically both of those 2 types look the same. So, if the cost is the concern, go for the halogen type. Look on e-bay; you will find the halogen type 2002+ ML headlights for $340 or so with shipping. I did the upgrade; my truck looks really good.

If you have HIDs already would switching the ballasts and bulbs work on the newer headlight units?

no it wouldnt, the bixenons have a different projector than the halogen units. you need to upgrade to the bixenon units.

You would need the pig tail adapters for both types (halogen and xenon).
I didn't buy the pig tail adapters (I think $30 for a pair). I just rewired the wires at the connector. Just removing 2 wires and reinserting in a different location on the same connector. Search on "pig tail adapter". You will learn all about upgrading your headlights.
