Hi All,
Can anyone suggest a good dealership in the MD-DC-VA area? One that has both a good pre- and post-sales record for service? I've never owned a Merc before and want to find a dealership willing to deal and not be "snooty".

I live in Salisbury, on the Eastern Shore of MD. Here, no one beats Pohanka Mercedes. Bothe sales and service personell are first class. You always get a loaner car (if you don't want that, there's also a shuttle ride), your car gets picked up & dropped off if you want, at no charge, they will wash your car when in service (unless you advice not to). I purchased a E430 and ML320 from them I wasn't rushed in anyway. As a matter of fact, the sales person adviced me on what my several options were when I explained to him my purpose. I don't know where you live, but if you're near here, Pohanka is the way to go.

I just purchased from Herb Gordon, in Silver Spring. I dealt with Len Logue, and he treated me pretty well... I'm only 22, so most dealerships don't treat me with much respect, but he was good; not "snooty" at all.

I hear American Service Center is good in N. VA.
I do not have very good experience with Euro Motor Cars in Bethesda. I did not hear good results from the Tysons Corner group either.
There is also Herb Gordon off RT 29 in MD which seems good.

Euro Motorcars Bethesda, MD - NOT!
Stay away from Euro Motorcars in Bethesda at all costs. My salesman played games when I purchased my car (C280). The service department is NOT "service" oriented. Now my car is in the body shop to have a scratch repaired on the top edge of the passenger-side rear wheel well. Very minor stuff. I took my car in on 7/01/2002 and was told it would be ready by 7/12. When I called on 7/12, they said 7/19. When I called today (7/19), they now say 7/26. I can't believe it! (They're just like their Web site - euromotorcars.com - all glitz and no substance.)
American Service Center is "okay". I purchased my 2000 CLK Cabriolet from them. Their downside: I ordered my car fully loaded. After a 1-year wait, it finally arrived ...WITHOUT anything I ordered on it, except the telephone (a dealer-installed accessory). I was miffed about that. Service Department gets a "B-." Those of us waiting for the figurative "Lexus Experience" from a Mercedes-Benz dealership are in for a LONG wait.
