Can I replace an integrated V60 phone with V710?

I found this on ebay:
V710 on ebay

My 2003 ML has the original V60 phone, is this a direct replacement for a V60, or would a different cradle, wiring, etc be required?

TIA-

Email the guy, he's very helpful. I got my 710, mikbox and cradle from him.

I have confirmed with Verizon that they will not activate my V60 that came with the car, and I have learned that no version of the V60 MB phones are FCC 911 compliant with the GPS chip, so my only option now is to get a mikbox, new cradle and a mixbox-compatible Motorola phone through Verizon.... all said and done best case scenario is going to cost $500.

Is the integrated phone worth it?

I thought it was. No fumbling for the phone when it rings. Plus I used to miss a lot of calls because I had the music up and didn't hear the ringer.

Now when a call comes in, the music mutes and plays the ringer. Worth it to me.

I have a TDMA MB (Motorola) Timeport that was removed from my 02 ML500 that I traded last Fri. My carrier was Cingular and it worked just fine. I will sell this timeport which includes the manual, belt clip, extra battery and charger. If you have an interest PM me.

Thanks, but I am 99% sure that Verizon won't activate that phone- and I'm on contract.

I'm going into my Verizon store to see if they will help me out at all on an E815- Otherwise I'll be ebaying my V60/cradle and the two Audiovox8900s I have laying around to offset the E815... I guess the Treo idea is out the window now, but having the in-car phone would be really nice.

I am not so sure that they won't activate it. I know that Cingular will. FYI, my new W164 phone is a GSM Motorola (MB) V600. Its also a camera phone and a world phone. From what I understand the Command (MCS in an ML) will also support text messages with this new set up.

I have it at home. I am in my office now. I will try to find the number on the phone this evening and send it to you. It was just taken out of service last Friday when I picked up my new ML.

Some things I learned over lunch at the Verizon store:

1. Verizon will not activate any TDMA phone. sorry sosh.
2. Verizon no longer sells the V710, but would activate one bought from ebay, etc.
3. A new Moto E815 (mikbox compatible) phone through Verizon is going to cost me $200, on top of the $250 for a mixbox and $100 for a cradle to match the new phone.

What is the projected lifespan of the mikbox- if I drop over $500 for this setup, will it be obsolete if Motorola changes its format next year, etc?
