05 ML320 Without Xenon, Want To Upgrade How?
Ok guys im sorta new here, anyway i just purchased an 05 ML320 woulda gone with one wit Xenon factory installed however i got an extraordinary deal on this one, regardless i really would like to upgrade to xenon headlights.
My question is can i jus purchase the ballasts and bulbs and then install and plug the bulbs into the projectors currently already in the headlamp unit, or will i have to buy projectors as well and retrofit. also i know that i will probably have to take the vehicle into the dealership to set the setting to Xenon=Present for an 05 is this correct.
Any help would be much appreciated and anyone in the chicago area who has done this or knows someone who could help please contact me VIA pm or this thread thanks again guys.

The best thing to do is to get an original bi-xenon headlights. You will have the low/high beam in xenon and the cost will be the same as getting an aftermarket xenon after you sell your old headlights. Also your projector headlights that came with halogens have a different light pattern compared to bi-xenon projectors, light pattern is more scattered in a non xenon headlight. I have a set for sale for $700 plus shipping (brand new), it's a plug and play. All you have to do is to install it and go to your dealer to have your AAM reprogram from halogen to xenon.

FYI - did get a set from Erky and they worked perfectly! Easy plug and play, about 15 minutes to replace each side. You will need to have the dealer re-program the computer to read Bi Xenons, but it wasn't an issue for me. Made me really wonder why I waited so long to get this pair!
You may also need to re-align the projectors (using the white hex screws) once you have installed them. The only thing I can say is when you switch this to Hi beam, you will be amazed!
Also, the middle (H3) bulbs will no longer work when you flick to hi beam. They are now relegated to "passing" mode only (they are the ones that go on when you "blink" your headlights during the day).
Just wanted to say thanks to Erky too!

I got the same lights from Erky. It's plug and play for 02+ MY, it means no re-wiring/pig tails are needed. Just remove your old lights and plug in your bi-xenons, and you know to have your dealer reprogram the AAM. I believe Erky already did the re-wiring that needs to be done inside the connectors. In the link that you posted, just follow the removal and installation of the lights, dont mind the wiring instructions. In that same DIY page, you can also follow the installation instructions of a regular projector headlight.
