Tires, opinions?

Haven't bought any in a while, but bought an 02 ML with Sport package for the wife to drive for a while. Thoughts on what to use (275-55-17, right)? I still think Michelin Cross Terrains, but that's going to be 8-900 a set as opposed to about 60% of that for the OE Dunlops. Yes, I know the Michelins are far better. I won't be keeping this very long, but don't want to cheese out on a nice truck. Suggestions? BTW, don't suggest Nokians, or Hankooks, or any of that description--I'd prefer to stay with the known entity...thanks.

Get the Cross-Terrains. They will serve you fantastically, and they'll last the lifetime of the car if you're not going to have it for more than a couple of years.

What is the safety of your wife and her passengers worth to you? Certainly a few hundred (additional) dollars???

Steel Grey 2012 ML350 is wife's
In Georgia, we have several ML's. The wife likes the smoother car-like ride that the Dunlops provide her. I like driving sporty so use Toyo Proxies for high-speed and cornering to feel every dip and bump in the road. Both provide LOTS of metro Atlanta highway miles, wear flat and highly recommend. Very happy with Kauffman Tires.. match anyone's prices.

I've got the Scorpions on most of my G55's -- but I think that the Cross-Terrain is going to be a better tire for Allen down in Georgia....

2006 ML500
Goodyear tire

Fortera SilentArmor.

Highway All-Season. Works well for me. It has been raining here in Seattle, WA and the tires performed as rated 9.x. When I mean raining I mean raining that it almost broke the record for Washington's longest non-stop rain. Whew! got a break for one day and it's raining again.

I also like the looks. It's a head turner!
