*help* Wondering if any one else has the same problems
Hello, I am wondering if anyone else has a problem with the ML making noises on the underside (atleast that's where I think it is coming from).Okay, I gas from a stopped position there's this loud clicking sound. It only does that when I gas. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this. Apparently this 'problem' can't be fixed and it is 'just the way it is'.
Any help will be appreciated thanks!

Had 2 W163's before my W164. What you described is not normal and not the way it should be. Perhaps your Cats are bad or there is a problem somewhere in the drivetrain. Never had this in either of my W163's.

The sound is a creaking/popping kind of noise. Mine does it when you are coming to a stop or accelerating. The problem in mine and still is that thw rubber boots that hold the sway bars, torsion bars, etc. are just drying out a bit. Mine got a nice coat of silicone spray to moisten em up a it, and they were fine for about 3 months.
I had them all replaced, and they were nice and quiet for about a year. The noises started to come back with time, and since then I have learned to live with it, and keep em all lubed.

Sometime ago I experienced shaking from a hard launch and at that time it was suggested that I have the center axle bearing checked?????? Mine was OK, but you might want to have that checked too.
