Unhappy Thinking of selling my 99 ML430 to get an Audi A4 Avant should..

I do it? Anyone have any problems with the new Audi A4. I know it's not an MB but I love how it looks. Anyone have similar comparisions before buying an ML?

Haha! Sell it all!!!

There's a few dealers here in the Massachusetts area that have RS6's available. It's like a supercar!!! only like 900 or so coming to the states I think. Look for the Volvo S60R also.
take care.

I have an A4 and ML

Hey, I have an Audi A4 and an ML320. I love my Audi. The only trouble I have had with it was the CV axel and catalytic converter. Its a great car. Handles with the best and is exciting to drive. Just make sure that you get the bigger V6 or, like Chris was saying, step into the RS6. The S4 will do just as good and it will not disappoint you any. I almost got an S4 before I bought my POS ML. (What a mistake that was).

Wouldn't keep it past the warranty...

You will love the car and tolerate the service but when the warranty runs out it becomes very expensive. If you trade at that time you won’t have to deal with that problem but will find out about Audi’s low resale values.

Audi does not offer a factory extended warranty for a couple of reasons I expect: (1) if they charged enough to cover expenses it would be embarrassingly expensive (2) if priced competitively with other German cars they would loose their ***. The story on third party warranties is a mixed bag. If you have free legal representation (not just advice) they can work (ex-wife was an attorney).

The 1.8T is a great engine but prone to premature cam belt failure. Its not so bad if you have the tools and time to work on it. Many of the rabid VW owners also spend a lot of time on preventative maintenance far above recommended levels. Those that merely drop the car off at the dealership anytime something goes awry find the car a very expensive proposition. Audi has done a lot of things to get competitive with other German makes but their reliability is still not what it needs to be.

The Audi is the machine I'm going with after the ML goes. I believe I want an S4. If I don't get that, then it will be an A4 1.8T Quattro with an upgraded turbo, chip, exhaust and brakes. Bringing it up to around 300 hp. The new S4's (due out late 2003) have a 4.2 V8 with 344hp and 410 lbs torque and will weigh the same as the 2.7T in the older S4's. NICE!!!
