None taken , all personal preference. The reason why they are not flush if because it's not fastened all the way in. Photo's are just for reference.

What's wrong with having running boards that looks like ones of an X5?

Just for the record, we also carry the ones you have on your ML, the "tube" style...I much prefer these over the tube kind since the tube ones look too "universal."

I would venture to say those must be very labor intensive to produce because they are about $500 more than my universal tube style
Do you have pictures of them off the ML?

You are definitely right on that, we can get the tube style boards for most any SUV/Pickup.

These on the other hand, are a totally different material (Aluminum). Light, yet very sturdy. Also most rust. I have added some more pictures. If you guys have any more questions, feel free to ask.

55fanatic, the design was initially based on the W164 running boards. We offer the same style for the W163, W164, and X164.

Don't want to sound like a dick...but if I got the "universal tube" running boards you mentioned...those are $150 for the set...all hardware AND stainless steel. What is the advantage to these that costs $550 more?

Well I guess it's just a matter of preference. If you like those tube style boards, go for it!

This is just a different style running board, which looks similar to the ones which come on the newer ML's.

Thanks!

The running boards look nice and seem to be of decent quality materials....

It's on my list of things to get for my tired workhorse but even at $500 it's more than I want to spend on a 10+ year truck! Seems like you guys stock a lot of parts....

What does a set of quality chrome tube side-steps run for those who have it? What's more durable in term of long lasting, no rust, etc.

I sometimes go for MONTHS or longer without a car wash and these must be durable!

These are Crap

Live local. Down the street from these guys. Said I wanted to come buy. I was told price was $650! They are on ebay for 600- thats where I got the # to call. Idiot tells me it cost MORE to come in and get them!!!!!!! Not to mention they are listed on MBWorld for 550 shipped!!!!

Don't know about you but sounds like a rip off. They must suck cuz I've NEVER seen them on any around here. Guess I'll just pay the dealer.
