ML 320 - Big problem with starting /sensors
My self Vj, I have ML 320, it has done 100,000 Kms, I have a problem with my car.
The problem is that while driving for 10 minues it cuts out and all the lights glow in the dashboard.
I try to start up again, it does not start, it cranks up but does not start at all. I leave it standing for 4-5 hours go back to it again it starts again.
It is very hard to drive this vehicle as it can stop anywhere.
I need some help from all of you, I dont know how I can get it fixed.
I noticed one more thing that SRS bag indicator in dash board is not on and it does not go on at all, is it a fuse of the golbe or the problem with srs
Please reply.
Cheers

There must've been a problem with SRS system, so some one (previous owner??) must've removed the bulb in the instrument cluster to hide the SRS problem. First you will need to open the instrument cluster and put a new bulb there (if a bulb is missing or the bulb has gone bad). Then see if the SRS goes thru the self diagnostics when you turn the key in the ignition to ON.
Is ther any specific number to that sensor?
Please advise
Thanking you in anticipation

If you supply more info - model number (vin) etc then I can tell you the method. The method changed from riping out with hooks and pulling out with correct tool over the years. The rest should be easy after that.

Have you tryed the instructions I gave in post 8. I have looked at detaili website and it appears as though the panels on either side of steering wheel need to be pulled out to expose two screws that hold cluster to vehicle. The lamps can then be changed once you unplug the cable(s) from the cluster.
