m class side mirror repair

Hi can someone give me info on how to remove and replace the plastic part that surrounds the driver side mirror?
I cracked the plactic edge backing out of garage .

Check ebay. Try typing as a search: ML MIRRORS. I checked today and there is someone selling the outer covers for cheap.

thx for tip but I already got the part, what I am looking for is easest way to install the plastic piece.if u have any input it would be appreciated

I believe the front and back halves snap together.

I fixed mine a year or so ago, then my wife broke the mirror again, and I decided to let the dealer do it, as I was never happy with the job I had done - I could not get the shroud ti stop vibrating at speed.

The dealer fixed it for free, under warranty!

The easiest way to it is to remove the mirror. To remove mirror, go to inside of door and pop the sail panel trim. Now just unbolt it. Now that you have the mirror in your hands, push the glass around and you should be able to see the mount tabs. Good luck!
