OEM bi-xenon retrofit
#2
Yes, it is possible.......
but, you have to do a little pin out change and talk a dealer into programing the AAM to show xenons are present (from what I hear they are NOT willing to do this). I saw a post on benzworld by someone who did do this.

reprogramming
I have tried that in an E class and it needs to be reprogrammed coz it will show up something like light bulb burn on the dash.....but I didn't see any warning lights on the ML that shows that.....so it still need to be programmed?

retrofit
I also have a 350 that I would like to retrofit to bi-xenon. Please let me know where you got yours and how much. Did you have to put in adapters (e.g., wires, assembly, etc.)? ballasts? Is there an option to just forego the washer/wipers or you would need to install them too? Why did you have to get it reprogrammed, is it not working right now? Please also tell me whats was your experience in reprogramming like BillM is saying above. Thanks a lot.

I just got aftermarket HID installed!!
I got it installed on my ML350 today and they function just the excat same as the halogen lights used to be. Auto mode makes it turns on by sensor when is dark or u can just turn it to the on mode, it turns on for 45 sec after turned off engine in dark for, it turns on for 45 sec after pressing the unlocking button on the remote for. No flashing or any warning lights are on and I didn't do any reprogramming at all. Just need to change a 20A for the headlights. It just disable the daytime running lights. Is not an OEM kit is just an aftermarket kit that have Hella ballast and taiwan made 7000k bulb.....
I didn't installed them myself I paid a custom car shop to do it...it took me about 2 hours and they charged me $180cdn and the HID kit cost me $750cdn....total under $1000cdn including tax. They thought that it will flash and a warning lights will show on the dash b4 installing it. When is done there was no flashing and any lights so reprogramming is not needed =)

sweet. How is the beam pattern? Also, was this a plug and play kit where the bulb was modified to fit the stock H3 housing? More info please.
There are tons of companies doing group buys for HID kits that use a Hella ballast. Most of them are around $400-$500 USD.
I honestly can't believe that MB doesn't have HID's standard on all their cars...ugh.

the pattern is excatly as the original halogen lights.....just think of the original halogen lights now with a super bright xenon bulb.......nothing else is changed except the light power.......I am not sure how to install it I believe is a plug and play because it is a H7 HID bulb.......it just sit on the original place where the halogen bulbs used to sit......
I know is ridiculous that MB don't have HID on all cars.....I used to drive a X5 and it comes standard in Canada........actually all BMW have standard HID in Canada except the 320i.....and is only a $800cdn factory option even if it doesn't have
By the way I really think the X5 is a much better SUV to drive around the city......even the 3.0i I used to own (wrote off in an accident) feels much more powerful then the ML350.......especially the breaks are excellent compare to the ML......I can't wait to test the lowest model 3.6i V8 coming in september
