diameter
what are some of the problems that you may have if your diameter with bigger rims don't match the original wheels?
Less\more gas milage?
Less\more odometer count?
etc.

i think the bigger it is...the more gas it uses...so the less mileage your gunna get out of the tank...engine also gets hotter...not hot enough to do any damage though...correct me if im wrong

Its not the gas mileage gets bad, its that your MPH will be off a bit due to the diameter of the wheels. Youll also notice a drop in acceleration. Plus your most likely going to hit a pot hole and bend the rim, so try not to get too low profile tires. Dont wanna spend thousands on new rims everytime they bend.

Wider wheels
The X5 has 1" wider wheels in the rear. I assume it is for handeling. Has anyone ever tried this on an ML?
example: 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rear?

If not, get 295/45. I would go this route due to the more comfortable ride. But then again I wouldn't get 20 inch rims to begin with.
