ray catena dealer comments
I'm planning on leasing an ML55 from them and I'd like to hear if anyone has had good or bad experiences from them?
Otherwise, I'd gladly hear suggestion for good NJ MB dealers, especially in the North, close to Manhattan area. Thanks,
VS
1- Ray Catena (Worst)
2- Globe Mercedes Benz (Terrible)
3- MB of Manahtten
4- MB Morristown (Good service but not the best)
5- Estate Motors (Westchester NY) Best service and best prices.
Thats just my experience, I just bought a 2002 CLK430 and was shopping for a while till I landed one at Estate.
My answer to that is all of the above. They have very high prices and when you ask why they give you a sad story about supply and demand) Their prices are so high it would be useless to start negotiation. The service was also bad, the sales person talks to you with his nose in the air and no respect. So I just walked out.

Benzel Bush , I never visited personally, but a friend bought a E320 from them. He said they were ok, but he only got $500 less than MSRP. Cant really say much about them. I visted Prestige, but didn't talk to anyone, didn't have anything for me.

MB Morristown was proably my second choice, their prices are resonable and service is good. They just never had my selection. I finally went to Estate because of the selection of CLKs they have. And all of their prices were resonable to just on the CAR I bought. Also they gave fair value for my trade-in. And they added in a few extra things without me asking.
I hope this answers all your questions.
Anyone care to say something good for them?
Or maybe I should rephrase, when you favor a dealership for MB, what is it that you guys like, good price, good follow-up service, no hassle closeing once price is agreed, what else?
BTW, I notice they put their little mascots on the back of each vehicle they sell. Since it's advertisement on a car that you'd own/lease, how much do you think they take off the price just to put that mascot on there, or they just don't ask and stamp it in?
Thanks for the help,

I just had two my trucks there last week, for my first one I got a call saying the car was done and ready to pick up, so i left to get it...during which time I remembered I forgot to mention a problem the day before about the windshield fluid not spraying, so I called them while I was on my way and let them know about the problem. Not only did they replace the pump which turned out to be broken but also replaced the temperature sensor which had gone bad (from a long time back)...both for free, and this on my older, 10 year old ML I had bought from them back in 97

Ray Catena fixed the problem without any extra charges

However, my service advisor, ( Thomas Hoover ) was really helpful in getting that L panel under the hood covered so the only thing i had to pay was gas and those bloody tolls from the Verrazano and the Outerbridge.
So I guess my overall experience was Ok...though the problem couldve been avoided in the first place but I was glad that Ray Catena took up the responsibility and covered the L panel and installation and I would definitely go back there still because my advisor was really friendly and helpful.
