What's teh sccop on HID / Bi-Xenon upgrades?
Facts and questions:
1) Mercedes dealers can not (or will not) install the Bi-Xenons for you. I would have thought if you were willing to pay enough the dealer could order a set of replacement Bi-Xenons lights for you (say someone stole yours!)
2) Performance Products sells a set of Bi-Xenons for the ML for $1400. Are these plug and play? I saw something about an increase in the headlamp fuse was required. Perhaps the wiring is the same in the factory HID vehicles and the halogen ones, but I’d be worried about increasing the amperage of a fuse.
3) I see several kits on eBay that seem to claim they are for the ML – price seems to be around $400-$500. Has anyone tried these kits?

Performance Products primarily sells the lights for pre-2002 cars, and includes a wiring harness adapter.

Plug and play. 15-minute installation if you're at all handy with tools.
I installed the bi-xenons on my '98. Make a huge difference in performance and looks. PP has them, but I got mine through Bekkers because PP was out of stock. No self-leveling.

Question: Are the Bi-Xenons self leveling on the 2003 factory installs?

Your ML looks pretty nice with those updates and the wheels, etc.
Regarding lights from E-Bay, as I warned in the other thread going here, make sure you are buying OEM HIDs and not retrofitted halogens. If a price seems too low, I would be wary.

The lower price (~$400) sets on eBay do not appear to be the complete headlight replacement unit that Performance is offering. However there is one guy selling a used set for ~$700 and another selling a new pair for $900 - but they are NOT Bi-xenons.

Factory installed HIDs are ALWAYS self-levelling on Mercedes vehicles.

Those aren't bixenon. One can tell if they are bixenon or not by reading the description... if it says they are bixenon, then they probably are.

on the description and trys to sell them? it does happen.
Let me repeat the question again, How can you tell if they're Bixenon or not? Just by looking at them. Let's say there is no description.
