Windshield water reservoir indicator on/off
I checked the wiring to/from the tank and everything seems correct.
I filled up the tank (just in case), and, obviously it didn't help.
Since I heard that the sensor seems to be very finicky, particularly with MB washer fluid, I'm wondering if adding simple water can be a solution. Till now I've added 1 liter and the problem still there...
...thanks a lot in advance and, BTW, happy new Year...
.... what year? ...
Sooner or later I'll be forced to go to the Dealer but..., you know, it's a so "stupid" thing...
I feel your pain! I have a 2002 ML and I went through 2 washer reservoir fill sensors before I decided to disable the sensor. A flashing Yellow light can be a real pain.

...ooops, I forgot, ...anyway now is in the signature... MY 2002

...but i keep posting just for future reference
Anyway, after I added the "clean" water, the sensor kept showing up once in awhile for the next 24 hours and NOW it's OFF since 48 hours
, of course I'm crossing all my fingers BUT, some questions are arising:1) It can be something "TEMPERATURE-RELATED", since here there was 0°C., which now are (in the last famous 48 hours) +3°C.; it would be interesting to know whether the "bottle warming system" has an activating outside temperature range or not.
2) Same as above but, now, considering the chemical composition of the fluid (X% water + Y% soap) = Different reactions at given different temperatures.
3) (X% water + Y% soap) = Different SENSOR reactions.
It would be very interesting if a GURU (ML GOD
& Co.) would Confirm/Deny these possibilities maybe by telling IF the gold-like MB Washer Fluid is an already mixtured product or if it's a Dealer-made composition....wow..., pretty long eh? ...sorry...

- no need to replace anything
- no need to go to the dealer
...just for future reference...
after checking and refilling my reservoir the light had come
on again about a week later. so i grabbed another gallon
of windshield wash. poured it in and then checked it in the morning. seems the reservoir was cracked so i have since had
it replaced under warranty. my dealer had it in stock. i guess
they are problematic.
also....the dealer replaced at no costs to me the front brake
pads. i had 22000 miles on them and they had begun
squealing really loud with the recent cold weather. since the
change no noise at all. i can't say enough good things about
my dealers service department. the guys there treat me great.
