Question jeffrey3553

hi this is jeff from sunshine coast Queensland Australia and I have a problem with my 2002 ml320 furl tank only filling 3/4 first I thought it was the gauge but when the Lowe fuel light came on and I filled it up it would only take 55 litres and I know the tank holds 85 litres has anybody had this problem or know how to fix it thank you.

Try this fix by removing fuse #5 in the right side fuse box.

Just let me clarify something, are you saying that the tank is literally not filling up or do you mean that it is just a fuel gauge issue.

well that is a bit hard to answer because when the Lowe fuel light comes on I try to fill up the tank, but I can only get in about 55 litres and the fuel gauge comes up to 3/4 mark so I don't really know if its the gauge or the tank not filling properly

I would think that the fuel pump float is the problem and to check it would require removing the fuel pump. Do you know how to remove it or are you willing to?

.

read attached.

Looks like people are resetting fuse 5 at fill-up. So, it is summer there. Do you think the problem is worse in the summer? Do you have the trip odometer in your overhead? http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w163...king-fuel.html

If trip odometer is also acting up then it looks like you'll want to accumulate ALL of the fuel tank parts and shotgun the repair. If your tip odometer (miles remaining) is working then it could be a problem with the instrument cluster.
