Could you check my engine ID#?
Hi,
I just received a replacement engine for my ML320. I am wondering if the ID number can be analyzed for information about it's previous life. Here it is: 112942 30 589655.

I tried my best by looking through M/B EPC, but couldn't decipher their eng. coding, but I do not think it is an 2002 or later eng..

That's more than I knew how to do. Thank you. I wish they would put the VIN on the engine too. It would be interesting to get the history.
