help please
im sure this has been discussed but im not getting a ton of info thats solved the problem. i changed my wife's spark plugs on her 2008 ml350. I used the bosch platinum ones.
i did not disconnect the negative battery terminal.
I did them one at a time on the driver side, then on the passenger side i took all three out, then put all three in.
i figured i had the intake hoses maybe not on perfectly. i have checked htem repeatedly and cant get the CEL to go off. is the engine cover sensitive to how you put it on? I notice some sort of vent in the middle up near the windshield.
i have a scanner on my diesel truck, so i will eventually hook it up, but this seems like it should be an easy fix. i know i maybe didnt do the steps 100% correctly (battery, order of plugs), but is that going to be a deal breaker?
let me know what you think. thanks

Sig added. Gas. Will check codes tonight when I get home.
If i installed them in the wrong order, is it as simple as redoing it? Or have I potentially done damage? I’ve never had issues with simple spark plug install. I did not gap them as I thought they came ready to go.

thanks for any help you can give. Keep in mind she’s never had a code in the 7 years she has had this car, so I really doubt it’s a coincidence.

I did notice some small hose sort of left of center of the front engine cover was sort of hanging off. That can’t be good. Maybe a 3/4” diameter hose near the alternator. Oh well I cleared the codes and reconnected everything. We shall see tomorrow when she drives it. But if you guys have any bright ideas in the mean time please feel free to humble me.
