I am still fairly new to the board, so many of my questions may seem elementary. That being said, what do I need to do to equip my nav unit? I don't really know if I even have one. I have the Bose LCD screen which appears to have Nav & Phone capabilities. What else would I need besides the CDs? Is there a subscription? A separate Nav unit? Thanks.

Stick a navigation CD in the slot behind the MCS screen, then hit the Navi button located below the Radio button and see what happens. The Navigation display should show up on the screen, then a Caution screen. Push the Ent knob on the lower right of the unit and things should start to happen. No subscription needed. All you need is a navigation CD for the area you are located in. There are a total of ten area CD's that cover the US and Canada. If you don't have the one for your area it will not show any road maps. You might want to check out this link http://www.navteq.com/vehicle/ordercds.html for information about the navigation CD's.

Before you do you should check out the Garmin StreetPilot 2620. A killer nav unit that can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. More accurate and reliable than the MB installation. (I've had both). My 2610 goes everywhere with me - in and out of three MBs (01-E320, 03-E500 and 03-ML350). Got it on the internet for $700 + shipping. I figure I saved about $5K! Good Luck.

I agree. Thats what I would do, get the Garmin StreetPilot. Only reason I've got the Mercedes Navigation is that it came standard with the ML430 when I bought it. SteetPilot is the way to go.
