Can anyone help provide instructions to remove passenger rear lower ball joint. Is there DIY as well?
Im having trouble removing the top nut that has the allen keep running along. This is when everything is still intact. Nothing has been unbolted yet.
here is a picture of the lower ball joints leaking. Thank you very much!

Looking at the video, do I have to remove everything in order to pop the ball Joint out, just as the video shown? I thought once the nut is remove we can press it out, no?

Yes you do have to remove everything. Here is a better video
and keep in mind that replacement ball joints, whether they are M/B or aftermarket, are different from original, and require a special socket to tighten the BJ locking nut, 4:17 in video.

The ball joint is purchased first and the socket afterwards, as the sockets vary depending on BJ maker.

I think you have to remove everything. i didnt do the rears yet but i did the fron and i had to take it down to get the ball joits out. and for mine i didnt use a special socket i used a big about 3 feet long gas pipe wrench, wasnt gonna spend $50 on a socket just for that job. looks like its holding good.

Thanks and appreciate for the pointers. I was able to remove and replace the Ball Joint. Unfortunately, I broke the plastic tab that act as a stopper while twisting the carrier. Is this critical, as I hook back every thing accept the broken stopper plastic tab.

Another question, there was some play on the upper arm ball joint. Are the upper ball joints replaceable by pressing out?
please see video.

Critical if you use the e-brake. But it should be replaced.

As for the upper ball joint, it is not replaceable separately. You must replace the control arm.

What brand do you recommend for right rear upper control arm for replacement besides from stealership? Something decent but not to expensive considering i occasionally tow a boat for fishing trips.

Thanks again

Are you still asking about the rear and is it left or right?

Agree with Egor, but contact Moog and ask what socket they recommend as it is not the same socket as the Mercedes one.
