Unhappy ML350 Shakes when stopped

I have a 2004 ML 350. It shakes pretty noticeably when stopped and the car is in drive. It does it a lot less when the car is stopped and in reverse. While driving and slowing down I have no issues only when stopped. Any ideas what I should be looking into?
Thanks for any help
Anthony

I've checked the oil level, PS level all vacuum hoses and made sure the filter and intake were all hooked up properly. I also ran a scan and have no trouble codes.

could be motor mount or transmission When you are stopped you have the brakes on and the engine vibrates more.

I checked the motor mounts today. The driver side mount is completely apart and the passenger side isn't to far away from failing. Thanks for your help. Replacing these looks like a pain in the butt

Did you install them yourself? How much of an effort is the installation? Thanks.

Yeah I put them in myself. It took about 4 hours. It wasn't as bad as everyone said it was. I had to remove the driver side wheel, wheel well and a few of those shields that MB installs. I was able to get the passenger side pretty easily. Also I wasn't able to get the engine mounts out just by jacking up the engine, I also had to pull the engine mount brackets off. It was worth the half day of work just to save the $650 that my local MB mechanic wanted to charge. If you have any more questions just let me know.
