Cool w00t...I hardwired the ML!

just finished hardwiring our ML with the 8500. Pretty simple job, after you get the plastic trim off carefully :p

works awsome...though, the black dots up top don't seem to do well with suction cups??? It keeps falling off the minute I throw the radar detector up on the clip. I'm going to get some of that PDA screen protector vinyl and put it over the black dots then place the suction cups on the vinyl as that will stick for sure...unless anyone has some suggestion? I tried cleaning off the surface, cleaning the suction cups, etc. Nothing worked.

Also, if anyone wants directions on how to hardwire their ML, i'll be glad to do a write up

next up, the w220 to be hardwired, that one may be a challenge

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
Gdawg...did my directions help at all? and you can just "carve" out the black dots...they are only a sunvisor.

actually, the 12V source in the passenger footwell is not constant. You need to turn the key to position 1 or 2 or start to get power to it. So I tapped into the red wire (which was the 12V) and then I used one of the screws under the dash that was screwed into a metal plate and that was the grounding point.

Pretty easy job, except for the stupid plastic cutting me up :p

hmm...it wasn't when i tapped into it. as well as when i plugged something into it, it wouldn't power the item unless i turned the key into one of the on positions...
