Carbon Fiber GruppeM Intake...

This thing looks sweet with the CF however, this thing is expensive as hell, a whopping $850... anyone have this intake? Any gains?

I'm thinking about making intakes....maybe not CF, but with heat shields and K&Ns....any interest?

wouldnt be worth it, the stock airbox is good enough, our trucks dont need an intake, its useless, no gains and it will just suck in hot air.

I'm going to disagree with you guys, sure there are a few drawbacks from an intake but any car/truck I have installed them really gave back ggod results, granted I have NOT put one on my 430....but that stock filter looks restrictive, surely a K&N will flow better..... just my .02..

A cheaper an better way is to drop in a K&N filter into the stock box, and find a 3" pipe on Ebay to replace the accordion stock pipe. I've done this to my
ML430 and it works great.

GruppeM has officially ceased all manufacturer-sanctioned distribution of it's intake products in North America. On certain US version European models, no power gain or loss of power has been experienced, in some cases resulting in engine failure and MAF sensor malfunctioning.

Yes, I heard the same thing on the BMW Boards. Also, they are not truly carbon fiber, though they were advertised as such.
