Backlight on Motorola v60 always on
After having the hands free communication system installed a couple months ago, I have discovered that the backlight is always on when the Motorola v60 phone is attached to the cradle (it does turn off if you take it out of the cradle to carry with you). Yesterday I took my vehicle in for the 3000 mile checkup and asked them to look into this. My main concern is that the phone gets rather warm/hot the longer the phone is in the cradle with the power on. Dealer tells me this is normal, and that other MLs do it as well. I'm concerned that, since this phone is about $600 to replace, that the heat generated by it over the long haul will have me replacing the phone much sooner than I will have wanted to. Has anybody heard anything about this?

Most phones have an option to adjust the setup for different situations. I know the V60 could be setup different ly for headphone and for FM radio adapter so I'd suggest looking in the setup to adjust the backlight setup.
Also, it's normal for the phone to heatup in the cradle as it's busy recharging which will cause heat. If the backlights on it'll definitely cause more heat. Can't imagine you'll still have that phone by the time anything burns out as it's already a very old model phone.

Yep, tried that
I've went through all the settings on the v60 and still haven't had any luck getting the backlight to stay off . . . . unless I'm missing something.

Backlight Problem
I just purchased the hands free communication system from Mercedes in May. That's the phone that came with the system. No other options were available or offered. You can't just put any phone in the system, you have to put the Mercedes version in for it to work.
