One of our loaner cars came back today on the hook. They said it took 2 tow trucks to get it back out of the mud. Somebody decided to go 4 wheeling in it. 
Its covered in mud, the foglamps are filled with muddy water, the engine appears hydrolocked. 
The oil is full of water, but the coolant tank is full. 
This is gonna be expensive.....

Sorry, long day. Sometimes I am a bit brief. No news on this yet as it is the weekend.
Yes I do work at a dealer, this was one of our loaner ML350's that a customer took on a little off road excursion. He apparently got in to some mud that was too much for the truck to handle, and it was deep enough that the engine sucked water through the intake.
I am very interested in how this is going to pan out, I will try to keep you guys updated!

Your dealership should certainly take action against this customer. This is pure abuse of a vehicle and certainly the customer does not honor the privelage of being given a loaner. Sounds like some of the guys (not all) on this and other forums that brag about abusing the loaner cars given them and then wonder why some dealers will not provide them and others free loaners. The customer and/or his insurance company should pay for this and it should not affect the dealer from a financial standpoint at all. In fact if I were the dealer I would not return his car till the incident is settled and paid for

Well this story is kind of sad now. The motor is $19,000.00 remember that before you do something stupid. The front diff got water in it, but I think it will live with a fluid change, and another shortly thereafter. The tranny stayed dry, as did everything else. Both headlights and foglights are needed though. They filled with water. The spare tire carrier got tweaked during extraction, so we need one of those too. The air filter is soaked, there is water in the intake box. Looks like the truck went nose first in to a canal or something and it got stuck.... Thats all I know for now.

Too funny. A friend used to work for enterprise rent a wreck and seriously aused thier cars. He found ramp at a loading dock and would do KIT type tricks off the ramp in LeBarons, festivas, luminas whatever. The funniest thing I saw was the time we were on the freeway doing 70+ and he shifted the auto tranny in reverse. I nearly died laughing....Oh Well youth.....
