HIDs in stock 02+ halogen projector

My friend recently gave me a H7 HID kit, but I noticed that the Stock Projector has a different base that will not lock down the H7 HID base. Is there any fix for this? BTW, I did a search so any help will be appreciated. thanks!

8000k HID's in Halogen Projectors...

Just hook them up to your city lights instead of your low beams or else they will flicker when you turn your car on. The only way to get around this is to go to the dealer and have them activate the Xenon settings so the car can recognize them via the computer, but most dealerships are ghey saying that its a liability. I got that same BS, so I just hooked them up to my city lights instead and voila, they work like a charm and look damn good to me too.

Did your H7 based bulb fit in the 02+ halogen projector or did you need an adapter? The H7 that is in there now has a locking metal ring that holds it in place- unlike a traditional H7 fitment. I have the HID Kit with a H7 base but I don't see how i can get it to lock in place without making some sort of adapter lock ring. thanks for any additional help. Oh and kit fires right up so I don't think i will need to go to the dealer since I have 99'.

Alboston- I want to try this route first seeing that i already have the projectors and a retro HID kit.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
h7 kit will fit with minor prep. measure it out, and silicone the base for fitment.

Do you mean silicone the HID base to the headlamp or to the original H7 housing/ring? thanks
