I have had this car since 2002 and the only 1 owner before that Mercedes dealership used the vehicle. I replaced the following parts with genuine and OEM Mercedes parts: Alternator Serpentine belt Idle Pulley Tensioner Pulley Front and Rear Struts Coil Springs Shock Absorbers Control Arms Ball Joints Tie Rods Sway Bar Links Bushings Radiator Water Pump Coolant Expansion Tank Drive Shaft Center Support Bearing - Center Engine Mounts Catalytic Converters Fuel Filter Fuel Pump Power Steering Pump Ignition Lock Housing and Cylinder Include 2 FOB Keys and 1 Master key.
I am interested to know how many of those are still on the road and which parts are still original from the factory that came with the car.
Thanks.
Mine is 2001 with 102k miles. I’m the 2nd owner and purchased it in 2016 with 80k miles. All part replacements are original parts except for my last fuel filter which they no longer sell. My ABS pump just went out and I’ve decided not rebuild it bc they no longer sell the pumps. I only put 3k miles annually and I think I can live without the abs pump.
Yep. 2001 W163 ML 320 here. Just passed 155k miles. Touch wood, so far, so good. Living in Oregon, I have zero rust, anywhere. I think the tin worm is the major problem with this era of any MB....

I kinda inherated/was given a 2000 MB ML 320 177800. I have a 21 item list that is mostly done and have been peckin at all that since Dec. More recently while on an up hill state hwy I gave her about 1/2 throttle to downshift and it started picking up speed really fast, as usual. Alll of a sudden right at 4k RPM it starts bucking, loosing power and then in what seemed in "limp mode". I pulled codes, 5, 0300,0301 0304,0305,0306 of which all had to do with misfires. I clearded them and gave it another GO. Same thing., Air filter very recently changed. Thought it likely the MAF sensor. Cleaned it and same business. Replaced it and same business. Now I seem to have been headed into big money mode. I had got a new fuel filter but hadn't got to that yet at that time. Scratched my head and says to myself,,,,self,,, what ese can I do that won't cost the children's inheriatence. Off to O'Rilleys and got a jug of Techron, added that to 1/4 tank of BP "white gas" and with cleaded codes, ran it around kinda easy for most of that 1/4 tank.
Decided to get her back up to that 4k rpm range and Suprise, Suprise, Suprise, no sputtering and codes. I got another Techron and added to another 1/4 tank and continued to run it easy for a bit. Got itchy to give it anoher go. This time from a rolling 40 mph I "Pushed the Button" it clicked down 2 gears and shot up to 5.5k RPM real fast,, all good. I backed off the gas and all remains well 200 miles later. changed the fuel filter, dang what a chore to do without removing the rear seat and doing the fuel lines at that time. With the old filter out I blew through it backwards and black gas an muck shout out.
Moral of the story : Always scratch ya head at start at the basics. Now its getting great fuel flow and runs like a top now that It's getting the proper AFR.
Good luck to All Ya'll Not to shabby for a 24 year old
I know a guy who bought this car for himself, and now one kid after another drives this car until they get their own cars. Well, I'd say this car is timeless.

There is my Orion Grey/Blue interior. Mine is just barely needing a leather dye job. Found the kit for 75.00 maybe enough to do front and rear..
