Not all of the pages are showing up for me; here's a link to Auto Spies' article on it, with a pdf:
ML Order Guide
One thing of note– no 3rd row option. Considering the next X5 is supposed to have a 3rd row option and the LR3 and MDX already do, I wonder if this is going to hurt the next M in marketing. Sure, those rear seats may not be usable for anyone over 5', but they seem to be a major selling point.
I guess MB salespeople are supposed to direct people who want more seats to the GST or new G-Class '

ugh! thats really annoying that you cannot combine the appearance and premium package. I want the appearance package but still want the premium interior lighting as part of the premium pkg. Stupid mercedes.

I aint looking to trade any time soon, and it damn sure won't be for a new model. If I were forced to, it would be a 500 so at least I would get a tried and true 113 motor vs the 272 which has no history behind it. Some things I see I like, others I don't.... Time will tell, and surely the first year at least will be nothing short of a PITA.
BTW.... Steering wheel shift buttons are annoying, and I prefer my shifter in the console thank you very much.

Fair enoug. It's just that I have three kids under 3 years old in car seats. Simply can't do without the extra seats.
I just test drove the LR3 last night and I must say it is a fantastic car. I love my ML350, but the LR3 has it beat in more ways than 10. It looks and drives very well for a large suv. It has a lot of power. The quality seems hard to beat, too. They come loaded with everything too. And that third row--it seats adults up to 6 feet tall, no kidding, I sat back there and had room to spare. We're very tempted.

Seriously, I know if you have kids your needs are totally different. I like the LR3 a lot, as well--what I don't like is the very high weight, just adequate power, and poor mileage. You pay in weight for that off-road ruggedness.
Have you considered the new Volvo XC-90 V8 that's coming out in a couple months? I've never been a Volvo man, but this will be a good vehicle. 7 passenger std. (optional on LR3), only 4,600 lb. (LR3 is 1,000 lb. more!), and a very cool V8 purpose built by Yamaha w/ 311 hp/325 lb ft (vs. 300/315), 18 mpg city (vs. 14), cleanest V8 (ULEVII) out there, and of couse all the Volvo safety stuff. Performance should be better than the LR3 (7.0s 0-60). The big unknown about the LR3 for me is that LR has been in the toilet as far as qualtiy ratings, which also reflects on resale. If you won't really use the off-road capability of the LR3 (95% won't), you might want to consider the Volvo.

And who could complain about it's safety reputation and the better performance?
Thanks.
