On Monday I am picking up my 2006 ML500. It will be alabaster white. I'm having the Ipod docking station added before we pick it up so I don't have to make an extra trip. I'll give more details on that on Tuesday. The truck also includes;
Trim package
Premium Package
Entertainment Package
Ligthing Package
More info and pictures later!

We took delivery last night. The truck is great. One of the best things about it is the ipod interface. You can select whatever playlist you have on your current ipod and let it rip! You then can jump back and forth with the steering wheel controls. Your ipod info is only displayed on the settings diplay behind the steering wheel. It doesn't display anything on the Nav screen..

And don't forget to take a picture of your car since I really want to see it in white.

Very nice car! Looks great in white! So being plugged in like that, the ipod is also always charged? If so that's great!
Great pics also in the Picture thread! Many thanks!

I noticed that the Ipod is in the glove compartment. I was curious, after having a talk with my dealer, about how the set up is for the Ipod. He mentioned that there would be a cradle for it, and it would come wired for use with the cradle. I clearly see that you have it in the glove compartment. Does the Ipod integration kit come with any sort of cradle? Is there any type of dismantling in order to fit the Ipod integration kit, or is it simply plug and play when you ask for it? I'm getting the car in a couple of days, and wanted to make sure. I don't want to have a cradle and the Ipod in it, but a set up like yours. If I can put it in the glove box and forget about it that would be ideal. Thanks a lot. Beautiful car by the way.

I like the MB logo on the Ipod, thanks for the pictures.
I don't think you can get a cradle unless you use the plug and add it yourself. You do get a small manual to use with the ipod. My wife sticks it in the glove box and forgets about it until the next time she wants to update it.

thanks for the photos.
what type of connector is on the ML side of the kit? I can tell that the iPod side uses a standard iPod connector but can't tell what the other is. I've heard or read it is a 3.5mm jack. I hope so. Do you think one could use another audio source via this jack?

Hello, sorry to bring this back to life but I'm very interested on the last question regarding the 3.5mm option. I have just got an ML and It cam with this exact iPod setup: cable on the glovebox, display only on the small info screen. also I'm curious about how to play the podcasts that are on the iPod, I couldn't find how to play them.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
