I just noticed that the pipes are small oval ones and mine are larger square ones. Is this a US thing See picture

the square exhaust tips are part of the M Class Sport Package formerly the Exterior Appearance Package which you have on you ML while Dutch doesn't. If you look closely you will also notice that you have the chrome sill protector on your rear bumper which is also part of the package while he does not as well

I can see clearly the oil dipstick head (red). You can check the oil the old fashion way and top up as necessary.
