Hi I'm getting ready to install a back-up camera in my wife 2006 ML350. Does anyone know if there is a harness under the steering which will give 12v when shifting into reverse or do I have to run a wire from the tail light?

you need to go all the way back to either the taillight assembly or the rear SAM. it should be a white or white/black stripe.

Are you installing a factory camera or aftermarket? If aftermarket, will it tie into the factory screen?

It is an aftermarket unit. The display hooks onto you rear view mirror.
It took me a good 4 hrs to install the unit.
