Got my first ding...SOB! :P
My careless neighbor hit his door against my new ML putting a dent in the silver door protector (not that bad since it was there). This bothers me significantly because I am a fanatic about keeping anything new in perfect condition. I really wanted to kick the sh*t out of him because he seems especially thick
. What is wrong with people? I realize everyone makes mistakes, but this also happened with him back when I owned my CLK430. I feel like my hands are tied in terms of confronting him about it because either he will hate me AND do something worse. I also feel that it was done deliberately since it has never happened to my past two honda accords. People can be so clueless! Part of me wants to avenge my ML and the other says let it go. Thanks for letting me vent!

I've got a ding on the passenger side chrome part too. I didn't notice it until the other day. Sucks! I do have those big old side step bars that any low car will probably smack their door into if they aren't careful. Maybe you should get some of those?

I rent alot of cars and it fascinates me when cars park next to me and the kid in the back seat kicks the door open into my rental (which i obviously dont care about) .. but it scares me to death to drive my MB because of seeing this happen ... I almost had a panic attack the other day when some idiot parked next to my car and had the doors open strapping in his kids ...

Thanks guys, for the good words 
I often have though about installing solid steel sharp spikes that stick out about door level, or any other type of defense that would pierce the metal of the door that contacts my car to inflict significant damage to the offender. One day this will become available and I will buy it! Thnks again

Its interesting. Every nice car/bike I have ever owned has been vandalized in one way or the other. And I never act like I deserve it! :P I know who some of them are and they live like bums to this day. I don't want to say they deserve it though.
