BTW, the DSP program in the Harmon-Kardon stereo system (PII package) has been markedly revised from the one that was in my '07 ML350. The difference is huge. The sound stage has been moved much further forward, the high frequency response is now evenly spread from L to center to R, the mid-bass response from the front L-R door speakers has been much improved, and the low end response on the sub-woofer has been much improved. The low end is no longer abruptly cut off, but rather gently rolled off to limit speaker cone excursion (yes, it's still only a 6" "woofer"). I'm still planning to deal with the sub issue and the system still has the annoying speed controlled volume function (why can't MB make the option for this annoyance, uhm, function a menu item like every other car on the road), but now there is a much more solid basis on which to work.

The H-K system and the lack of a truly world class sound system in a car as world class as the W164 has always been a pet peeve of mine, so this was an unexpected and pleasant surprise with the upgrade.

Sorry, I should have said P1, P2, or P3 - any of them get you the H-K system. My car just has the P-2 package.

I am a bit disappointed in the bass of the PII package stereo. Am looking for some recommendations on adding some additional sub power, if anyone has a good suggestion..... Tom B.

h/k stereo

I have a H/K stereo in my Mini and it gets the song information for most FM stations. I can't believe that the song info is not available on the M class.
Correct me if I am wrong. I know you can hit info for the Sat stations which only works until you change the station. Overall the sound in the MB is fantastic compared to the MC.
