I voted for the black n chrome. It helps to stare at the images to see what it could look like. The stock just has too much silver color.

speaking of grilles... I saw this ML350 today with a completely black grille. So I shot it with my cell phone camera. Check it out. I removed the plate ID since I don't know who it is.

wow its just a regular 2006 ml 350 07+ have the black one with chrome stripes and the ones that are all silver or on the sports 500/550's or 63

mine came stock with an all black grille, replaced it with the all silver/chrome one.

You can get the grille from almost literally anywhere that sells mercedes parts.

Look on Ebay, Performance Products, Mercedespartscenter.com, etc.

Lol you have to see it from other people's point of view sometimes. It seems like you made zero effort to do some research before posting. We aren't gophers, we don't dig around for info because you don't want to look yourself. The ML was only offered with ONE version of the silver grille. It is all silver with chrome ribs.

You can't go wrong with buying one from the websites/companies I listed, they are all OEM. You can also buy an aftermarket replica for much less, it should do the job.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, text unfortunately can't transfer tone properly. All I'm saying is, the next time you post give google and the search function on this forum a shot before making a thread. One, it will get you an answer much faster. Two, it won't clutter up the forums with repeated threads.

You do sound like a jerk unfortunately... I have spent countless hours researching online - so you are wrong, chap. In fact, thats how I stumbled on this website as well. As a novice, I spent countless hours agonizing over if a DIY was feasible as well and pored over 66 pages on this thread too. So quit the attitude. this is my grille currently



but I was thinking of painting the silver portion black and leaving the chrome as is, the star and the chrome strips, I somehow like the look of a black grill....

You would essentially be going for the ML63 look.

I tried to find one on a silver ML, but it was difficult without having one with the AMG sport pack as well.

These were the closest I found, but they should give you the right idea :







Or you could sell your grill to Mr. Whizzo over there and buy an AMG grille.

I like the look of your silver grill, thanks. I like the ML63 look from Mr. Audi as well. But after all, they just shipped my silver grill today, so will go with the silver. I just hope that this will be a DIY project based on the link provided by Mr. Audi. Thanks, guys.

Yea. Actually I thought about getting a W166..., but after I saw the first pics of the W166, I thought the money would be invested better in some AMG parts for my W164.

I saw the W166 ML63 and ML550 at the LA Auto Show on sneak preview night(hosted by AMG for the first time). The ML63 looked much better and more masculine than the W166 in general(I would hope), but it still looks too soccer momish for my tastes. The interior though, is leaps and bounds better.
