loud creaking noise from front end
Our ML has 17k miles on it, and has recently develop and pretty bad creaking sound from the front end. It happens most obviously when I'm parking, when the wheels are turned BACK from full lock. For example, after I park when I straighten the steering wheel. It happens in other situations similar to this as well, when alot of close to full lock steering is needed. It creaks as well when the wheels are turned and say I go over a speed bump.
Any ideas?

Probably not serious but... You don't want to do any damage to the car in case something is going bad.![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
I'm assuming it's still under warentee..
Hope everything is ok

Yep, same problem on my 2006 ML 500.
It's been in and out of the shop a dozen times and they've not be able to fix it.
Their current theory is a spot weld has come undone. So it's going to a body shop in a few weeks for their inspection.
Good luck!

2006 ML-350 and 2007 ML-350
Creaking Noise............
My 2006 had a similar problem. After several visits to the dealer and the replacement of front ball joints, lower control arms, etc. they traced the noise to "headlamp washer nozzle support tab on nozzle bracket rubbing against back of nozzle tube assembly. Removed tabs on both nozzles, noise gone."

It looks like mine got fixed today (after close to 3 years!).
Bolts connecting the sub frame to an extension (which in turn connected to the front grill assembly) were retensioned.

I have been searching the internet for 2 weeks trying to find an answer for the same problem I am having. I signed up for this site just to share what fixed my problem.
Issue: Loud creaking noise when letting off of gas and the cars weight shifts forward. Also occasionally did it when turning. Sounded like and old door hinge creaking or a wooden floor being stepped on and it was coming from the right front.
Diagnosing: I pushed down on that corner and heard nothing. Had it inspected at the local shop today and they found nothing. Ball joints, control arms, springs, sway bars, bushing, joints, everything was fine. They had no clue and were actually perplexed. At one point I had 4 mechanics looking at it at once. Knowing that nothing was broken and it was safe to drive I went home and opened the hood and just started pushing on different points of the engine bay hoping to create the sound.
The cause: I put my hand on the passenger side engine bay brace to push down the right front and the brace was loose. I had replaced my battery 2 weeks prior and to do so on a 2007 lacrosse you first have to remove the engine brace in order to pull the battery out. Brace is about 2ft and goes from up near the strut mount by the back corner of the engine bay and down to the front of the engine bay at an angle. I did not fully tighten this brace after installing the new battery and it was allowing the front of the chassis and frame to sway and move and creak. I tightened it up and all of the noise is gone. Hope this helps and hope this is all that's wrong with yours. Just check your engine bay braces/strut brace bars.
