VERY interested in used 2006 ML500

Well thats the vehicle i am going to be looking at this weekend. Any advice when looking at used ML500's ? Any suggestions ? Also wondering how hard is it to put in HID's and Ipod integration into a ML. I forgot to ask whether or not this had either of those. I am really excited to see it and hopefully all goes well. Sorry for the newb questions. ANY of your help is greatly appreciated. THANKS !

I think the early bugs were worked out long before 2006...these are really great SUVs. In ice and snow, they're like mountain goats, and there's lots of room. They're still a bit noisy but I'm not sure it's possible to get MB sedan level quiet in a big truck like this (although I've read some reviews of the new GLs that claim they're much quieter).

Ipod integration is anywhere from $20-$700, depending on whether you want to see the names of the tunes.

I've seen lots of MLs at the dealer with 200k+ miles on them, same transmission, and they're tight as a drum.

If you're looking for an SUV, the ML is a serious contender--great combination of power, finesse, and safety. Good luck!

You'll notice a big difference from your Acura. These have a much heavier, more substantial feel to them. I drove Acura and Lexus and they just seemed unsubstantial, creaky, light compared to the ML (which was like a new car/tank).

ML500
I just bought a 2006 ML500 this past weekend for my wife (traded in the Acura TL). Great car. I havent had a chance to put it to the test, but first impressions are very good.

The one you're looking at seems to have pretty high mileage, so be sure to extend that warranty. Mine was a certified pre owned, with 40k miles. I paid about $2900 to extend the warranty an additional 2yr (in addition to the 1yr it comes with for CPO).

Good luck!

Mileage seems a lil high for that price but then again maybe there just cheaper in california. Those rims are nice, I'm getting tired of looking at my wifes 235/65/17 , Need to be a lil more beefier like those pictured.

You will like the 06 ML500. Have had mine since Sept 2005. Its been flawless. Best to buy one with the HID lights. For basic function you can plug the IPOD into an outlet in the glove box and it will play thru the Command. For more functions and battery charging you must purchase the IPOD kit which will also allow you to control it with the wheel buttons and see all the info on the MFD. My 06 goes away the end of next week as I will be taking delivery of a new ML550. My 06 will be a good buy for someone as its low mileage, loaded and pristine.
