I need all four rotors and break pads replaced and breaks flushed on my 2008 ML550. I also need the air filter changed.
The Local dealer gave me an estimate of $1458 +tax to do the work and I feel is too high. The same dealer replaced the front break pads just 9000 miles ago and is now telling me that the front pads are worn 75%.

I would like to know if anyone knows of a good independent mechanic in the Baltimore, Maryland area that does good work at a reasonable rice.

Thank you

Mallique.

Try checking with the local MB club chapter and shop around the local dealers. If you want to make the trip have a look at Euromotorcars in Bethesda.

Call Autowerkes in Fallston. Marcelo and Sergio Vito own the place and service is awesome. They really know their stuff and are great to work with. Number is (410) 803-8555. Tell them Chip sent you.

Hope that helps.

BenzBee,

I have taken my cars to couple dealers in the Baltimore area and their quality of service has been pretty bad. I’m looking for a competent and reliable mechanic who really knows their stuff. I have 08 ML550 and a 07 SL55 AMG and I can’t afford to have someone experiment on my cars.

I called Euromotorcars in Bethesda last week and left a message but I have not received a call back. That tells me they are either too busy or they lack the professionalism to return a call of a potential customer in a timely manner. I definitely don’t want to take my cars to a place as such.

But, thank you for your suggestions.

Euro Sport,

I will give Autowerkes in Fallston a try. It will be nice to have at least couple of options but finding good mechanics in Baltimore for Mercedes high end cars seems tough.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I never had great experiences with Euro Bethesda or Germantown. Both high volume dealers and seem to be busy in service always so don't seem too concerned with individual customer service. Germantown once had the CEL come back on three days in a row as I tried to pull out of their dealership, literally U-turned 3 evenings in a row and picked up a loaner.

The new Koons dealer Mercedes Benz of Baltimore I have actually not had any problems with in probably 5 visits.

I do need to find a good indy shop, more south near DC or Rockville.

Years ago i used 2 Indy's up york rd near hunt valley, but can't remember the names anymoe (both north of Valley Motors). The 1 I used often (left side heading north) and had good experiences but can't speak to them recently.

I own a 2007 E-350 4-Matic and looking for an Indy mechanic for replacement of thermostat which I have already purchased from E-Bay.

Does anyone have any suggestion on an Indy mechanic in Baltimore Metro Area (Columbia, Ellicott City, Clarksville, Catonsville, etc.) ?
