2008 ML Navigation Problem

2008 ML Navigation Problem
Navigation function has ceased to work on my '08MLcdi. It boots up then shuts down after a minute or two. Dealer says NAVI Head Unit is done and I need new DVD Drive Processor. Anybody else gone down this road? Can this unit be purchased away from dealer? Any leads?

The dealer assures me that the DVD is not the issue and that the problem exists with the Control Unit Processor. Does anyone know where one of these can be found? New preferred but used if I decide to take a chance.

Navi DVD Drive - 2008 ML320cdi
Trying again to see if anyone has had experience repairing a Navi BN5630 Drive unit? Where do I turn for replacement if need be?

I've just nicely replaced my nav unit in my 2008 ML320 and it is displaying my car motoroing around Los Angeles. Not bad except for the fact that I live in Canada. Any body know if this unit has an initializing button that needs to be pushed? I've pushed them all and have got no where.
