WANTED: New or used FACTORY RUNNING BOARDS for 2011 / ML 350

I just purchased a used 2011 ML350 and want to get a set of the factory running boards for it. If someone has a set that they are taking off their ML I would be interested in purchasing. Thanks!

Yes OEM, took me an afternoon to clean them up, I went to the extent to recoat the metal parts from the step on section that tends to pickle and they look like new for a 1/3 of the price new. These were not the tube version. In another blog here someone posted the packaging list which was helpfull for me to make sure I got all the hardware needed to ge them install which was $400.

Cheof, Could you please post your email address or phone number so I can contact you re the condition of the used OEM running boards you purchased and your method of cleaning and recoating them? I am undecided between purchasing used OEM running boards OR new aftermarket OE style running boards and would be grateful if you would chat with me - and grateful, as well, for all advice from any MB readers - thank you!

They were in very good condition, some scratches but not to visible since the boards sit so low. As far as the metal portion they were small rust spots but this is common on them. I hade them powder coated and sealed and came ou better than new, cost $150 for both. Key thing is to make sure you gett all the hardware required, Packing List and install info if you you are willing to do it your self. Install time at my mechanic 4 hours. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your help. I believe you earlier wrote that you spent the afternoon cleaning them... and now mention the small rust spots, powder coating and sealing them.

Do you mean that you did the cleaning? ( how? I wouldn't know how!) and then paid someone else to coat and seal them? What type of place would I go to, please, to get powder coating and sealing?

I'm considering purchasing from the same vendor as you the same used OEM boards... He says his are in excellent condition? Did you receive all hardware fom them?

Just not sure if all the work and expense of having the used OEM boards outweighs purchasing new OE style aftermarket ones? Still puzzled - Thanks!!!

I scrubbed & cleaned all the plastic parts and hardware myself, once you remove the metal plates there is dirt accumulated underneath the plates. I sent the 2 metal plates to get powder coated and sealed to avoid the pickeling in the future, I asked by body shop who they recommended or you can go to Craigslist. All together was a total of $575 for the boards & plates resurfaced which is about half of what the cost new with no worry on the metal part rusting in the future. As far as the hardware I was missing some parts because the bag carrying the hardware ripped during transit, however they sent me the missing parts right away after notifying them. I was very happy with what I bought and their service. Hope this helps!!
