2008 ML350 brake job cost?
On my 2012 ML only the rear pads needed to be replaced and it was $392.
I could be wrong, but If you need four new rotors I would guess you are probably looking at at least $250-$300 each +/-. I'm sure someone else will chime in and be able to answer you better.
I had bought some ceramic pads from Pep Boys (a discount parts chain), and this indy advised me to return the pads as too low quality they would not recommend to have on the car.
Buying the parts should save you quite a bit of money, but I guess you should get quality parts. Perhaps another forum will have a recommendation as to what brand is good.
If you can change a flat tire you should be able to change brake pads and rotors.
Flushing of brake fluid is usually done with brake pads but M-B specifies this as a 20k service interval so there is no need or point in changing the brake fluid with the pads. Its already getting done more often than necessary.

Here are the prices I paid at a local (Skokie, IL) independent MB service shop:
$230 Replace Front brake pads and rotors labor
$79 Set of front brake pads ceramic
$122 two front rotors
$8.50 one brake pad sensor (guess the other one was OK!?)
$79 Labor Flush Brake Fluid
$18.55 Brake Fluid
537.05 total
Cost at a MB dealer? Hmmm, just sign over your house, and retirement fund...

If the pads are replaced before the sensor wears through then it doesn't have to be replaced. But for $8.50 while you are in there? Replace it!
Was digging on other things and saw some high end BMW's have a 2-stage brake wear sensor. BMW used the first stage to establish a wear rate so as to guess how many miles remaining before you wear the last stage. The first stage breaks about half way through the pads so those sensors always have to be replaced unless one replaces pads with over half their life remaining.
A question for PNTbenz: what brand ceramic pads were used? And do you have matching ceramic pads on the rear? I have a mild phobia about mixing front and rear with different brake compounds which might confuse the ABS/ESP computer. When the time comes I will do my pads myself so its only about $80 more to get the same front and rear.
In an unexpected twist it appears the OE brake rotors are the least expensive option of good repute. Aftermarket is unusually expensive unless one considers mystery brands from China.
I had bought some Pro-Stop ceramics, and the shop said they did not recommend using any of the after-market pads, so I returned them to Pep Boys and went with the better pads provided by the shop (and of course cost me more and made them more profit to be sure).
